Fun fact: When Americans think barbecue, they think of ribs, sausage, briskets, or some other section of an animal carcass cooked over a grill. When Filipinos think barbecue, they think of meat on sticks.
I nearly cried tears of joy when my dad told me that he was going to cook the pork barbecue my mother bought a couple of weeks back. We’ve only been able to get this kind of barbecue at Asian markets and it’s insane how similar its taste is to the barbecue back in the Philippines. 
I have been deprived of this stuff for way too long, so I swallowed the guilt I felt for consuming so much fat and ate like a primate.
